an update, so soon?

So, Cole's new favorite thing to do the minute he wakes up is to build a "mouse house" which he calls because of the "If you give a mouse a...." series of books that he loves, so he has decided that anything we build is a mouse house. This one was a mouse house to park his tractor in. I build the foundation and he adds at will what he wants.

Our first big snow, Cole and Kevin were so happy. We got him his own snow shovel, and it has created an obsession!

To me, this just looks cold, but do ya think I could talk him into coming inside?

The belly picture, the cheesy grin makes it so much cuter though don't ya think?!? I am 24 weeks along, the baby is doing well. Cole has to talk to her everyday, which is really cute, except that he requires me to pull my shirt up high enough to show my belly button and he must talk right into my belly button. He makes all his monster noises for her and tells her that he loves her and that he will be a good big brother and share his toys. He really does make me proud!

So, apparently I needed a change, so I went dark on my hair color. Now I have to come up with another excuse for my "blonde moments!"

October 09'

This is Halloween night with (from the left) Cole, Shaylee, Max, Jayden, Hunter and Ryker, Kyla. Cole had so much fun trick or treating with his cousins. Kevin taught him how to sing "trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat", luckily he was too shy at people's houses to sing it.

These are our pumpkins, Kevin carved a haunted house.

I did a scarecrow

and Cole wanted a silly monster face. We were brave enough to give him his own little carving knife, he stabbed the heck out of this pumpkin on the side and kept slicing down the side, it actually looked like it had hair when lit up, so it turned out great and he thought he was so big because he could help carve the pumpkin.

Our front porch.

We had to learn many times that we only shoot bugs, or whatever else Cole decided, like alligators, elephants, and street signs. He did pretty good with his "shooter".

A few weeks before Halloween, when the cowboy obsession began, Cole somehow decided that he needed to ride a real horse for Halloween. We were lucky a stick horse did the trick by that night, I wasn't so sure he'd settle for a while. Halloween afternoon though we were able to go to a friends house and they let Cole ride their horse. He has always been scared of horses up close, but I guess when he was in his cowboy gear, he fit the part and was not scared. We had to bribe him off of the horse and every day now he asks if he can go to his friend Kylee's house to ride her horse.

Cole has had a great time at Grandpa's house as Grandpa rakes up his leaves.

I don't know who has had more fun, Cole, Siska, or Grandpa laughing at the chaos.

Train Ride

Back by popular demand and the fact that it has been since July since we have taken any pictures to even put on our blog, here is another update. Cole is doing really well. He is excited about "the baby in mom's tummy" and to be a big brother, as much as he can understand about it that is. He was snuggling me in bed one morning when he sat straight up and asked me what the name of the baby in my tummy was? When I told him I didn't know what to name her, he asked if he could call her baby ketchup? And so, she is baby ketchup now, except for one day where he called her "my dad's big loud truck." He is so creative and so cute. He is always asking a hundred questions, "what's that" "why" "where is that" "why are we going this way" "how do we get there"? Sometimes our answers really are not enough, but we try.

These pictures are from a train ride we took on my Uncle John and Aunt Donna's speeder train car, they used to use these to haul the workers around on the tracks, now it is my Uncle Johns hobby. Cole was too little, but they said it was ok anyways for him to ride. I have never seen him sit so still for so long. We met at the Heber Train Station and then rode the tracks to Vivian Park, it was beautiful and we were able to see some of the countryside not able to see by car. It was a wonderful day.

We had to pull over once each way to let the big Heber Creeper train pass. Cole thought that was amazing and would just wave as the train and the passengers passed by.

The leaves had just started changing, it was so pretty.

My Uncle John, in his element driving the speeder car.

We wore Cole out.

This is a line of 4 cars, the few in the front had broken down and then they needed a boost from the last speeder car to make it up the small incline back to the station.

It was such a great day to be able to spend with John and Donna. We hadn't seen them for almost 2 years and it was wonderful to catch up with them.

Camp Sequoia '09

Cole LOVED being able to hang out with Brayson, Karter, and Seth. He thought they were the coolest.

He preferred the floaties on dry ground rather than in the water!

Brayson and Karter and Val all swam the lake, they did such a good job. Brayson swam both ways, he was one tired guy, but recovered faster than Val did!

Seth enjoyed rowing the boat. Cole was pretty scared to get on the boat at first, but once he relaxed, he really liked the row boat too!

Cole liked chasing the ducks!

He also liked seeing John and Whitney and baby Ethan when we got home.

It was quite the road trip, we started driving on Thursday, made it to Reno, then on Friday made it to Sequoia. On Monday we went from Sequoia to Stacey's, Tuesday was Stacey's to mom and dad's in St. George and Wednesday was St. George to home. As long as Cole had movies to watch, he was great and such a patient guy. It was our one trip of the summer, I think we made the most of it!!!

Some things Cole loves...

Dad, of course!!!

Push-up's

Our neighbor's ducks

Ducks up at camp!

Mowing the lawn with Grandpa. He will sit on this thing for the 45 minutes to an hour while Grandpa drives it around and only get off when Grandpa does to empty the bags. I'm not sure who loves it more, Cole or Grandpa.

Swimming, especially when his cousins can come over!

We discovered rainbows this summer too.

And, he is already fascinated and growing to love his new baby sister/brother. He says it's a sister most of the time. He points to my belly button and asks if the baby is in there and can he see it.

We are so excited to be pregnant, it has been a long time coming. My due date is March 14th, but I am sure we will have it a few days sooner than that. I am finally out of the sick phase and happy for that, now if I can just stay up past 9 o'clock...
